So, it has come to my attention that people are still abusing track limits. The wording is perhaps a little strong, since most of them are minor, but the point still stands.

I feel like the attitude towards track limits is wrong for some people in this split. You are just not trying hard enough to stay within the confines of the race track.

Now, I'm a racer just like the rest of you, I get that in order to push you always run the risk of running off the circuit. But, when you know you are about to run off the circuit, you should make attempts to stay on it, by backing off a little. It seems to me that some people just don't care enough and happily cross the white line with all 4 wheels.

For example, in Hungary I made special attempts during practice to make sure I could stay on the track, particularly at the top of the hill at the start of the second sector. I knew that was a place that was very easy to cut or extend, so I made an extra effort to make sure I could stay within the lines. This was the end result on my best lap:

Granted those last two are very small extensions, but I'm not expecting everyone to be perfect. Otherwise we will all be slow and just cruising round. :D
Those were the only times on my best lap that I got even close to the white lines.

I just want to bring your attention to this one:

While that is technically an extension, its a very minor one. The point I want to make is that I was flat through that corner for most of practice, but I also often went off the track or cut the corner. As a result, I eased off the throttle a little on the corner entry in the actual league race:

Only a very small amount, but enough to be sure that I wasn't going to fly off the track.

But that's my mentality, is to really try and not leave the track. I feel like a lot of you are happy to leave the track, not to gain time on purpose, just because you don't care about the limits enough.

I'm not going to hand out any penalties this time, purely because not everyone records and it would be unfair. But PLEASE just be very very careful with the track limits, otherwise you are punishing the people that race cleanly.

For reference (sorry to single you out Kifla, it's not just you), this is NOT okay:

Alex, I totally agree with you and I want to point out that all real drivers are making those extensions by not gaining an advantage. So, please consider minor extensions as natural driving attitudes.

Thing is, we aren't real driver's we're all gamers using a website with very specific rules which have been in place for a long time.

Track limits is a personal bugbear of mine and I have no issues on bringing others up if they abuse the limits constantly, we all make mistakes every race but constantly running wide or cutting the same corners is against the rules.

If someone is punished for it that's their fault for not correcting their approach, but allowing people to cut or extend is wrong and we might as well become like a lot of leagues and not care about track limits, contact and general cheating (bit strong I know) of any kind.

If we look at what I mention carefully, we'll see that Alex's examples are the ones that I consider as minor extensions. Being like real drivers and being cautious about track limits are not in contradiction; these are two supportive concepts.

Also I would like to bring up the issue "Abusing Damage System". Especially in middle positions, there are lots of contacts and people don't hesitate to dive or making contact as they know that they won't get any damage.

The damage system is just a part of the game and people are playing the game how it's built. You can't really stop that.

Minor extensions are fine, just like the ones I did in my examples. You can't really stop that while pushing.
