Hey guys, please can you read through this.

So, as you can see, the season will soon be underway starting with our first round of the new look Formula Renault 2.0 championship. Most, if not all of you, will have seen the new updates for the season, and what has changed from previous seasons as well. However, there may still be things you missed, and also there are more things potentially to come later as well that aim to be discussed here.

So, where do we start? Well, first things first, here is a list of what is new/changed for the new season (you can see all of this from the Sign up thread and the Rules and Regulations thread, but just so you don't have to sift through the boring bits):

- Signing up to the league must now be done both on AOR, and on iRacing. To sign up on iRacing, follow this link and apply to be a part of the league.

- The race night structure is now a 2 race format, with a feature race of 40 minutes, and a sprint reverse grid race of 25 minutes. The practice session has been cut down to 60 minutes, and the qualifying is now a 10 minute, 2 lap session. Only those who finish on the lead lap will be reversed in the sprint race.

- The fuel limit has changed. The max fuel is reduced to 40% of the full tank for the feature race, ensuring that a mandatory pit stop will happen. The sprint race fuel limit will be left open, as a mandatory stop is not required.

- The incident limit is now slightly different. The feature race still features a hard cap of 17 incidents, however there is now a new soft cap of 13 incidents, which should you reach, you will receive half points for the position you finish in. In the sprint race, there is only a hard cap, which is set to 13 incidents.

- The points scoring for the sprint race is different as well, with it rewarding less points overall.

- The Thursday practice session will remain unchanged. However, the weather for the feature and sprint race will now be determined by whatever the conditions at the end of the Thursday practice were, instead of being dynamic.

- Drivers who need to leave between the feature race and the sprint race must also give a valid reason to the coordinators, sent as a PM on the AOR forum. Crashing out, not finishing, or not finishing on the lead lap of the feature race is not a valid reason for missing the following sprint race.

- Causing a deliberate collision after the feature race is not advised, as this will make it more difficult for us to know how many incidents the drivers actually got. If you did accumulate incident points after the race which ruined a 0x incident score, or pushed you over the incident limit(s), it is your responsibility to inform us of this.

So, that is all that has changed. But what about what is potentially to come? Well, there isn't too much to discuss, but here is everything that could be coming:

- End of season awards. Many of you will remember that there used to be end of season awards where drivers were asked to nominate things like best overtake, best race etc. Well, we will look to bring that back, albeit in a different format. This time, should it go ahead, drivers will be asked to vote on a variety of different categories, of which the coordinators will nominate different options to vote for.

- Extra, bonus races. Another potential addition to the season would be the inclusion of bonus/additional races through the season, separate to the championship, but open only to those that are a part of it. What the format of these races are, the cars/tracks used, and the potential for a pay in/reward race will almost always be down to a vote from you guys. More on this will come later.

- Broadcasting. As some of you may know, we are hoping to bring broadcasting to the series, although right now we have no definitive answer as to if/when it will come. We (Laurens and Gunar really) have contacted broadcasting options. We also see that we have a large level of interest for donations in order to fund the broadcasting. We hope to come to an arrangement soon so we can bring it to you guys ASAP.
