AOR iRacing GTE League - Season 5
Watkins Glen International: Boot
Survivors of the Nürburgring gather this week near the Canadian Boarder at this good, old track in the US of A, taking a vacation from bumpy, old tracks with close barriers, ... oh, wait... nevermind.
Anyway, thanks to the simplicity of tracks on this side of the pond, we're dealing with a lot less than 170 turns (12).

Date: 14th of January 2019


In-sim Time/Date settings:
Date: 1st April 2019
Practice will begin at 12 noon.
Qualifying will begin at 12:30.
Race will start at 14:00
Speed progression: x1.
Weather: Generated.


Time:
19:15 GMT- Practice 25 minutes
19:40 GMT - 15 minutes open qualifying
19:57 GMT - Race 1h 20 minutes


Track: Watkins Glen International

I really like this track but lose a ton of time in the bus stop. Every time. Will be fun! Another track not really suited for the Porsche (see what I did there? Lining up excuses already!)

It is, but they aren't that big really, and pretty much all the corners are Porsche friendly corners. If it was without the bus-stop, maybe I'd agree a bit more. :p

ID 2303 – GT Endurance Pro Qualifying Series
ID 2304 – iRacing Le Mans Series
ID 2305 - iRacing Endurance Le Mans Series

The changes are as follows:
Porsche 911 RSR | 0 kg
Ford GT 2017 | +10 kg
Ferrari 488 GTE | +5 kg

Please note, this does not apply to the Daytona 24 HR event.

Yup we'll be using the same bop as the official series.

i have absolutely no setup that will work with the ford...everytime i step on the throttle the rear ends wants to step out...iracing have no ruined the ford with that +10kg to it

I'm running 44-46's depending on the temperature. When it's super hot it's really easy to spin the car too.

Assuming a standard weight density of baseline of 0.755 kg/L the incremental weight of 10 kg equals approx 13.2 liters. Would have to look up the exact volumetric weight density used in iRacing in telemetry (Edit: iRacing uses 0.75 kg/liter)

If the car is really undrivable with this weight increase wouldn't it mean that the setup would not have worked with maximum fuel last season ( as I recall there was a fuel limit set). Furthermore the +10kg very likely added at the center of gravity of the vehicle and therefore only partially adding to the load on the rear axle.

Obviously the Ford know has a disadvantage - or better no longer an advantage. But that's the logic of balance of performance. But can't tell what data iRacing is using to compare performances.
